Nope, I've been waiting for this to be supported for ages, but there still appears to be no way to open an audio file in mediaplayer-app without using a terminal. I've registered a bug, but have seen no response from the mediaplayer-app developers: https://bugs.launchpad.net/mediaplayer-app/+bug/1346541
