I only work on some bits of this, so directing your e-mail only to me personally and not to the list is counterproductive since the people who would need to see your mail won't see it. I guess this was probably an accident, so CCing the list back in. In this case, this sounds like a problem with the click scope. I have some work in progress to convert it to use libclick to get the list of installed packages rather than having to start a Python interpreter, and that should speed things up. I doubt that would account for 5-10 seconds, though, so perhaps there is some other problem here.
