Hi I'm like Pierre, user of OSMAnd, which is a very good navigation software (maybe not as google maps but with very great features). For me, A GPS navigation tool is obviously a must have in today mobile phone OSes. Using OSMAnd derivate (or other OpenStreetMap based map service) could be a great sign for opensource/opendata movement. Then, using something based on OpenStreetMap, user should have a really easy way to say "Hey, I had a problem during navigation, It asked me to go where it's impossible ".
I don't think Google has plans to make a Google Map app for Ubuntu Touch right now, but they will if UT has success. Sadly, I'm not a dev, else I would already have started a port of OSMAnd (or making another OSM based service, changing ergonomy and adapting to Ubuntu Touch SDK, look & feel). But if a crowfunding start, I will participate (this is really a must have for me at work), andtrying to motivate people to participate.
