Hi Guys,

can somebody check this out?

I got the message from Daniel Leidert (Maintainer in Debian and Upstream
author) that a new version is out.
It fixes some bugs I fixed in the last package upload and he included
the .desktop file patch for ubuntu in debians package.

Actually I don't have the time to check it out, because I'm quite busy...so if
someone is interested, please do.

Thx,

When you build it for Ubuntu, you maybe want to include a bug-fix for a
bug discovered after the release. See document.c 1.324.2.16 > 1.324.2.17
http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/bluefish/bluefish-gtk2/src/document.c?r1=1.324.2.16&r2=1.324.2.17&only_with_tag=bluefish_1_0

I'm currently thinking about adding this fix to the Debian package too.

Hello Leo,

We released Bluefish 1.0.5 a few hours ago. I prepared an updated Debian
package. You can find it at http://debian.wgdd.de/temp/bluefish/ [1].
Please be so kind to upload the package as quickly as possible. There
are two reasons: The first is, that this package fixes a critical bug
(http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=327432) [2]. The second
reason is, that I was asked to provide a package for the 1.0.5 release
of bluefish quickly, so the next Ubuntu release can contain this version
(they are in a upstream version freeze period).

[1] After removing the debian/ directory from the upstream source, I put
the package to my CVS server. So you can also use cvs-buildpackage to
build the package against an upstream tarball.
http://cvs.wgdd.de/cgi-bin/cvsweb/bluefish/?cvsroot=debian

[2] I will backport the related fix for the Sarge version. Hopefully
this is "vital" enough to get the permission from the release team to
update the Sarge package. Expect a new package soon.

Thanks in advance.

@Stephan: CC to you (because you reported the request regarding Ubuntu).
Please note the following: I did not fix the issue mentioned in
https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/bluefish/+bug/3946 in
upstream. We decided against this practice in upstream for the current
stable version, but considered it in the development version. The
decision was made a long time ago. You can find the discussion in our
mail archives. I know
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UniverseDesktopFileAbsolutePath, so you have to
apply this "patch" again. The release further contains the fix you
backported in 1.0.4-1ubuntu2 and
https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/bluefish/+bug/1426. I don't
know, who will build the package for Ubuntu, but maybe you can tell the
person about these notes or build the package yourself.

Regards, Daniel

I've prepared package revision -2 (will be on the webspace in a few
minutes), which contains two fixes for bugs found after the release.

I've added the patch to the package. So you only need to add it to
debian/patches/00list to apply it (see
debian/patches/01_ubuntu_desktop_fix.dpatch).
