Hi List, as Matt asked, here it is: BRisa Project aims to implement a framework and a set of UPnP [1] compatible applications for embedded systems to share and renderer multimedia resouces, such as áudio, video and image. It is written in python programming language and makes available three applications:
- BRisa Media Server, which is responsible to share UPnP multimedia items that ranges from audio files (.mp3, .wma, .ogg), passing through video and image files to remote multimedia streaming, such as internet radio and online photo album. This multimedia items can be stored in the local filesystem, in the hosts located in the LAN or even remotely spread on the Internet. - BRisa Media Renderer is capable to reproduce -- thanks to the GStreamer Libraries -- all multimedia data shared by any UPnP media server, including our media server implementation. When a control point is started up, it sends a multicast message to the entire network to search for all UPnP media servers and media renderers. - BRisa Control Point, each of the available servers in the network responses to the control point requests, which at this point knows all of them. By browsing a specific media server via webservice, a user running the control point in his/her device, can renderer -- into a selected media renderer -- any of multimedia item shared by a media server. Fill free to ask more specific question. Thanks, Leandro.
