I don't know whether any other subscribers are interested in joining in
with a collaborative marketing project. I've recently been attempting
to get the attention of the Currys/Dixons/PC World group. I've
published the following e-mails and replies on U1:

My suggestion is that we work collaboratively to raise awareness and
support from suppliers in respect of peripherals. In this area, no
supplier can say that they do not support any flavour of Gnu/Linux
because they don't sell equipment with Linux based OSs pre-installed.
All of them sell peripherals which may or may not be Linux compatible -
and as the Dixons group have now acknowledged, they have some degree of
obligation to advise on compatibility - see
http://ubuntuone.com/1ljS8ezjCbZmOA34fLHYMc for this.
Are any of you interested in working along these lines and formulating
guidelines for doing this work?
Kind regards, Barry.
