Hello:

I don't think that you are never going to get mainstream game developers 
to support Linux because they are in the business of selling the games, 
not giving them away. Also if they did release binaries for the major 
distros, they would still get attacked for not making them "open source".

Mainstream game developers that write state of the art games, write them 
for gaming appliances like "Playstation", X-Box, Wii etc. They release 
Windows versions, because there is a large market of Windows users that 
buy them.
