There is a 'youth' (read: youth = <30) radio station over here in
Australia called JJJ, that has used this sort of gimmickry for a
competition (http://www.abc.net.au/triplej/events/beatthedrum/). This
attracted similar sorts of stunts to the firefox cropcircle (the most
recent winner in fact was a cropcircle), which mind you, is a pretty
good stunt in itself.

IMHO these sorts of things, with appropriate guidelines for entries (ie,
no vandalism or other illegal activity etc) can be hugely amusing and
entertaining. However, for some of the more attention-grabbing things,
something needs to be offered as incentive. What could we offer?
