Hi Mehmet,
I do understand your preference to let people self assign based upon
their strengths, this is how we did it in the past. The reason why I
would like to try the other method is that, in Trusty, there were a lot
of gaps in the columns author and editor next to a chapter or setion in
the shared spreadsheet [1]. Perhaps this method will work better. Of
course, if someone does not like his/her chapter, he or she can swap
with someone else. What do you people think?

You have my vote. Just a thought, would it be a better method to let
people self assign based upon their strengths, to give you an example, I
have worked on office productivity for the last three releases and as a
libreoffice QA Tester for the foundation I think my skills will be best
utilized within this chapter along with web browsing and email. I
personally would not mid sticking with what I have worked on for the
past few releases.
Just for the record, I have experience of managing projects and staff
for numerous organisations, if there is a way I can utilize these skills
to assist please let me know.

Oops! Correction: I think it should be: "I want to assign
chapters/sections to active members", right?

Interesting! It means less work for us :)
I was just going to let you all know what my plans for the future
are. I want to make a new task planning (shared sheet Ubuntu 16.04)
where I want to assign active members to chapters/sections. The
chapters that do not, or hardly, change are:
Prologue, Installation, Hardware, Advanced topics, Troubleshooting
and Learning more.
So we can concentrate on the following chapters:
The Ubuntu Desktop (13 sections), Working with Ubuntu (10 sections),
Software management (5 sections).
On the spreadsheet I will add names to chapters/sections. This means
that that person is responsible for the chapter or sections assigned
to him or her. When a standard version is released, like in the
current case Utopic, the person responsible for his or her
chapter/sections will check to see if anything has to be changed in
that part of our manual. Besides, he or she will check if there are
bugs to be fixed in his or her chapter/section.
If you all agree with this new task planning, we need to create a new
branch, ubuntu-manual/16.04, where you can upload your changes to.
I think that if we are going to work this way, we will keep the team
alive between LTS versions.
I invite you all to comment on this task planning.

Hello everyone,
As some may know, Utopic final images were released today. I have
provided a link to the Release Notes[1].
I'm a bit surprised that there aren't any *new* features (besides
bug fixes and the new Developer Center).
