Hi there,
Being the editor for the Dutch translation of the manual, I followed all
the instructions on:
http://ubuntu-manual.org/getinvolved/authors#install-tl2009
Getting started as an Author or Editor
To work on the project, you'll need to know how to do a few things: etc.
I have done everything as instructed, but the final test failed: the
making of the ubuntu-manual-nl.pdf.
When I give the command I get the following message:
It appears that you do not have TeX Live 2009 installed. Please follow the
installation instructions on the Ubuntu Manual wiki to install TeX Live
2009:
http://ubuntu-manual.org/getinvolved/authors#install-tl2009
I am sure there is no need to install all the files again (it took 1 1/2
hours).
I think the problem is this:
Post-install: setting the PATH
After the installation finishes, you must add the TeX Live binary
directory to your PATH---except on Windows, where the installer takes
care of this. For example:
PATH=/usr/local/texlive/2010/bin/i386-linux:$PATH
Use the syntax for your shell, your installation directory, and your
binary platform name instead of i386-linux.
But what should I type here? I do have
/usr/local/texlive/2010/bin/i386-linux/ with many files here.
Or is this the solution:
After chattting with nisshh I understand I have to set symlinks (or
something like that) manually. But he could not remember how.
Can anyone help me on this? Kevin? I know you told me yesterday you
would make the pdf for me, and I really appreciate that. But I do not
want to bother you all the time with this. It would be much better if I
can generate the pdf myself, because I am sure the Dutch translation is
not yet 100% correct; it still needs reviewing.
Thanks in advance,
Hannie
