Random tidbits that come to mind: 1. Upon starting Lernid, the IRC and slide panes were collapsed. All the panes should start opened a bit (or make it simple and let them each have a quarter of the screen initially). 2. The Edit > Preferences menu option does nothing. 3. When regard to the [SLIDE 1] commands provided by the instructor: It'd be nice if there were a [SLIDE NEXT] and [SLIDE PREVIOUS] so I don't have to keep track of which slide number I'm on. 4. I agree with Josh about the question queue. I had set up an alert in xchat to ding when someone said QUESTION in the -chat room. But even better would be if the bot parsed those for me and presented them in a private chat to me as they came in. 5. Along with setting the channel topic and giving voice to the instructor, it may be helpful for it to say [SLIDE 1] automatically to start the slide presentation. This would've saved us a bit of grief. 6. It looked like my slides in Lernid were blurry, but others' looked fine. Not sure why that was. (I generated mine with XeLaTeX and the others came from OOo, I think. But beyond that, I don't know what the differences are.) 7. Might be nice for the classbot to give voice to the upcoming speaker about 5 minutes before their session is scheduled to start. Just to ease the transition and reduce anxiety ("Will this thing work?"). 8. Could be handy if the bot privately messaged me when my time is almost up, too, so I can make sure to wrap things up on time. Probably a bit of feature creep, but I don't think it'd be too obtrusive. 9. There was some confusion in -chat as to whether one's question had been recognized. Perhaps there could be some feedback on that. 10. If I remember correctly, the text color in Lernid was light grey on white. I'm not sure if this is due to my theme or what, but the low contrast made it difficult to read. That's all that comes to mind at the moment. --Kevin _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-manual Post to : ubuntu-manual@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-manual More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
