Hi there guys, For any new contributors who are unfamiliar with bzr and apprehensive about using it, then might I suggest "Ground Control."
It's a plugin for Nautilus that's written in python, by Martin Owens. He just released beta today that's available from his PPA. Here's a summary: *"An integration project to bring easy access to launchpad to the desktop. It accesses launchpad, sorts out all configurations for uploading branches or interacting with a PPA, it also sorts out OAuth without requiring a web browser.* * * *For new users: Ground control is a project that hopes to bring the collaboration of launchpad and bazaar branches to every day users abilities. It does away with the need for a command line and has removed a lot of the complex distractions leaving a simplified workflow for users to follow. It uses all the existing libraries and practices of the community, so if you need to move back to the command line you can continue were you left off."* http://doctormo.wordpress.com/2010/01/27/ground-control-demonstration/ I recommend current users of bzr adopt it too, for two reasons: firstly I'm helping Martin with Ground Control and we need more testers, and secondly, I'd like to think that the Ubuntu Manual Project will be one of the first adopters of this cool new application :) Obviously it's still in beta release so don't expect it to entirely replace the command line bzr, but it's getting there. I'm not sure how it's pulling revisions down at the moment - I think it's just designed so one can load the latest revision, make changes, push it, and then delete that stuff. Then they re-load it again and make *new* changes, push it and then delete, repeat. Tomorrow I think I will make a short video on how to use bzr (command line) for new contributors, I'll do some voice commentary etc. -- Benjamin Humphrey Ubuntu Manual Project Leader Dunedin, New Zealand https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-manual www.interesting.co.nz
