Hi This is kind of off topic to Ubuntu , but relevant to FLOSS,
Was making a presentation (on a totally unrelated subject) when the people present saw my laptop booting into Ubuntu. Most, of those present, had never heard of Ubuntu, Open Source, Creative Commons, Copy Left etc, so we planned to have a small presentation on these topics, hence the request to friends on the list to help / provide links etc. I am preparing a simple presentation of FLOSS, Creative Commons and the concept of copy left - for which i wanted to use some negative real life examples for the "popular world". Like the recent incident when some amazon deleted (without the consent / knowledge of the owners of the device) some digital files on the device owner when the came into internet range because Amazon had violated some Copy right laws. http://boingboing.net/2009/07/17/amazon-zaps-purchase.html So if you folks have any similar fact (anecdotes) i would be grateful for links etc. The admin's can suggest if its ok to reply post to list or should the mails be sent to me off list, am not sure what, and if other people would like to know more about this thread. regards ram -- ubuntu-in mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-in
