trying to rip it "to"? If you just want to copy to your hard drive,
you should just be able to go to the directory on the CD and copy the
file (some newer DVDs you need to be root to read the file, but should
work fine with a VCD, imo...) If you are trying to encode it to a
particular format, the best way I know to do encoding is to use a
latest version of ffmpeg .. mencoder should work as well . Dont know
much about GUI tools for ripping though, sorry. If you see the file in
the directory structure and you can view it on VLC, there should be an
easy way to "rip" it. You could potentially also use VLC's
"Transcode/Save to File" option, that's worked for me in the past.
