Lut4rp, Since I don't have Hardy currently installed, I tried this running the LiveCD two times with different outcomes. I am not a CLI guy yet, and perhaps I should have tried this on a proper install, but here's what happened. I got the .O file in XP, rebooted and kept it waiting as a copy in Home on Ubuntu..
1. I found the b43-fwcutter deb and right-clicked, it started some Package Installer which asked me if it should "Fetch and extract firmware' and I said yes, and after a few minutes the install failed. But I noticed that it was in fact trying to get the same .O file from the web and failing, because there was no connection. 2. This time I ran the file, and in the Package Installer I did not click on yes for "fetch and extract firmware" but clicked Forward, after which my machine hung/crashed/foobarred. 3. On both the above reboots of the LiveCD I had noticed a quick error message pertaining to B43, before Ubuntu boots. Perhaps you tried your solution using the terminal and got that option to select the .O file? Cuz I never got it... ------- -.- 1/f ))) --. ------- ... http://www.algomantra.com
