Me too have a Lenovo N100 Laptop and been running Ubuntu from day 1 without any major problems. If am not wrong, you have a "desgined for Windows" sticker on your laptop, right ?! > > Ever since I have been using this Dapper version my machine hangs about > once to twice a day Sometimes i am able to access an alternate login > (ctrl+alt+f1 etc) and sometimes i need to force a reboot using the power > button - the machine just freezes nothing moves. This is usually when am > working on openoffice. Has any one else faced these kind of problems I had a similar problem during initial days with Dapper. I started with Dapper beta and upgraded it to stable. Sometimes it used to freeze all of a sudden and the only way to recover is power_down-power_up. But now, I have moved to edgy and I do not face that problem these days. I am not sure if it is a bug in Dapper as similar things did not happen to others AFAIK, but it may be a problem with respect to Lenovo. Updating to the latest kernel did reduce the frequency of occurrence of the problem for me with dapper. May be try that :) -- With Regards Parthan (TechnoFreak) .
