Any way i can pipe the output into a text file - tried dpkg -la |less in the hope that i could copy paste each section but its quite tiresome so any shorter way. Why i need it is because my current Ubuntu 6.06 is really well configured so am requesting a friend to get me a dvd with all the packages that this one has (atleast). Also I don't have access to the bandwidth required to apt-get everything in need. Thanks ram -- ubuntu-in mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-in
