I think it's far too early to guess just how Ubuntu will end up packaging GNOME. Some options/questions:
1) plain vanilla defaults? 2) with a special Ambience theme? 3) with special extensions? 4) Wayland as the default session? Depending on these choices, Ubuntu GNOME may or may not be worth pursuing as a separate flavor.
