It is somewhat impossible to get solid stats due to the distributed
nature of OSS. There is no way to track downloads from all the mirrors,
or how many users we have.
We still have users using 32-bit on amd64 capable hardware, but if you
exclude them the number on 32-bit only hardware by 2021 should be minimal.
There are plenty of distro's/spins who focus is on supporting legacy
hardware.

Hi, I wanted to respond but I am not allowed to do so.
Perhaps the idea of getting the discussion down to facts is
interesting - this is why I write this mail.

Dear all,
I am a Ubuntu-Gnome user for only about 1.5 years. There was a
necessary to switch due to my feeling that the other operating systems
on the market are not suiting my needs. When I completely switched
about 11 month ago I "forced" my family - as being their personal
admin - to follow. And non of us (6 people, 3 generations) regraded
that step. So for all the effort from the people making Ubuntu Gnome
possible: THANK YOU!
For this running discussion I am missing facts and figures.
How many people are currently using the 32bit version of Ubuntu Gnome?
How many downloads of - say 17.04 beta - have you had? (Per
day/week/month?)
How are these numbers compared to the 64 bit version?
With these numbers it would be possible to get a feeling of how big
the impact would be. And I know that if I would be "the only person
using 32 bit" left it would still hurt, if someone told me I am
"unwanted", but at least it would be easier to understand the "why".
And there are active distros that are specialized on older computer
hardware (most of them Debian based, but they do not use Gnome as it
is too resource intensive).
Best regards, Thomas
