The gnome-shell issue is fixed in 3.22.2-3ubuntu1
sudo apt-mark hold gnome-shell
sudo apt-mark hold gnome-shell-common
Should be:
sudo apt-mark unhold gnome-shell
sudo apt-mark unhold gnome-shell-common
sudo apt update
sudo apt upgrade
