We used to be in the habit of sending Public Service Announcements (PSA) to this mailing list when there were things worth announcing whether they be changes to packages in the distribution or infrastructure and tools used by Ubuntu developers. I think this would a good practice to revive and would like everybody to think about changes they make and whether they are worth announcing to other developers.
Unfortunately, the PSA I'm sending is actually about something that is broken. :-( The Ubuntu Error Tracker and retracing system for Launchpad both rely upon apport to retrace crashes and apport in turn depends on some infrastructure which is not currently available[1] for Ubuntu 19.10. Subsequently, all retracing of 19.10 crashes is failing. A solution to this problem is currently being discussed and I'm also working to enable retracing for focal crashes, which may have similar crash signatures to 19.10 crashes and could provide us some useful information. [1] The Contents-amd64.gz file is empty for the release pocket in 19.10.
