The debmirror package is shipped as 1:2.27ubuntu1 for Bionic 18.04 as well as Focal 20.04. This released version (1%2.27 tag from July 2017) does not have support for cnf (command-not-found) as discussed in the bug report at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/debmirror/+bug/1821251
This bug was updated as Fix Committed back in March 2019. Looking at the upstream repository at https://salsa.debian.org/debian/debmirror the upstream change was indeed committed and included in upstream tag 1%2.32, pushed March 2019. Relevant individual commits are 292e9e9c999dbfa9cd0269c5b7c8f82af09300fc followed by 39055366f9cd4f161e451cf0621d52f7dc0d5126. As a result, in Focal 20.04 LTS, running `apt-get update` on mirrors deployed with the current `debmirror` installation results in an error, as the cnf files do not exist. Would it be possible to have the Ubuntu source/package updated to be in line with the upstream Git repository, supporting Focal 20.04 clients?
