nvidia-340 is a very old version of nvidia. 20.04 LTS has: nvidia-driver-390, nvidia-driver-435, nvidia-driver-440. Can you please use Super to search and launch "additional drivers" select 440 driver and install and try that one? It is the recommended version of nvidia on 20.04 LTS.
