Dear all! As you may remember I tried to get OpenSCAP working on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS since 2014 (see my question on launchpad [Solved in comment 27] How to use openscap on Ubuntu or Debian? <https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openscap/+question/242354>).
I have already reported some bugs about OpenSCAP: * 2017-01-22 1658529 "[SRU] OpenSCAP packages should be updated to the latest versions on Ubuntu 14.04 and 16.04 LTS" <https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1658529> * 2017-01-22 1658492 "[needs-packaging] For security reasons scap-workbench should be available in supported Ubuntu LTS versions - 14.04 and 16.04" <https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1658492> * 2017-01-23 1658759 "oscap with com.ubuntu.xenial.cve.oval.xml wrongly reports many unpatched (and unknown) non-installed packages on Ubuntu Xenial 16.04.1 LTS" <https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1658759> These bugs are very close to the current discussion. Please pay attention to them. I added actual comments. IMHO OpenSCAP and OpenSCAP Workbench should be available and often upgraded in such a great GNU/Linux as Ubuntu. It's security audit tool, is not it? Otherwise enterprise users will not use Ubuntu. And they will use RedHat or CentOS. With best regards, Norbert.
