Hi Nish, If the package is so broken in Debian, is there a bug filed in Debian BTS with a suitably high severity? It sounds like what you're describing is Debian's "grave" but your bugs I see are only "important".
This often kicks Debian maintainers into gear since a "grave" bug is release-critical for Debian and I think will end up pulling the package from Debian testing.
