Also available for other major distros, so there are several alternatives to a reboot. For maintaining another distro when booted to Ubuntu and vice versa, systemd-nspawn for my needs is the simplest way and I guess for real-time audio work I anyway need to reboot, but indeed the OP should consider to test Linux containers too. Btw. one day I likely will also test Linux containers.
