I was going to file this as a bug, but I didn't know if it was the desired reaction. When you go to empty the trash by right clicking on the launcher it will open nautilus. Shouldn't it just empty the trash without having to open nautilus?
If nautilus doesn't have this functionality you could use trash-cli instead. I'm using wily werewolf.
