Hello, I posted this on the Ubuntu Forums, and didn't get a whole lot of feedback, so I thought I'd try this mailing list.
I'm launching a commercial software business. I'm targeting the Mac right now, but I am curious to find out how this would be received by the Linux community. I have an ongoing conversation with a friend of mine about this, and I think that the free and open culture surrounding Linux would mean that there is no market for an indie dev to go after. He thinks that the market is here, am I wrong? Would anyone buy a $20 app on Linux?
