Hmm yes this is likely obvious but: is it true that packages in sid are updated frequently? I mean: it is a waste of manpower to keep a package up-to-date, e.g. if stable has version 1, and unstable passes trough version 2,3,4,5, then the stable is released again, what is the motivation in putting versions 2,3,4 in debian (apart from ubuntu :). I am not _questioning_ this, I am wondering if maintainers in debian are actually worried to constantly update packages in unstable.
