FWIW, I have no opinion about anything that goes anywhere near POSIX. 
POSIX-prescribed stuff is designed for users that are very comfortable 
with TFM, so the type of hand-holding that's appropriate for ordinary 
users isn't necessary for POSIX users.

In fact, discord between POSIX and GUI tools could even be argued to be 
a perverse type of feature, because it gives a clear indicator that 
you're moving into geeky territory.
