I packaged kdvi from KDE 3 kdegrapics as a stopgap to provide this capability in Intrepid since no KDE4 package provided it in KDE 4.1. It's time has now passed.
I think as people experience KDE 4.2 they will find it a significant improvement over KDE 4.1 that we shipped with Intrepid and there is very little to miss from KDE3 anymore.
