I have a laptop that contains a Broadcom BCM4311 wireless interface. This device requires firmware to be loaded, so I installed b43-fwcutter.
I looked at: http://www.linuxwireless.org/en/users/Drivers/b43#fw-b43-new and the chip appears to be supported. The firmware loads correctly under 2.6.27-9-generic, but does not load under 2.6.27-11-generic. lsmod shows that there is a wl loaded under 2.6.27-9, while none exists under 2.6.27-11. It has bee awhile since I set up the first link, so it may be an obvious omission on my part. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I also wanted to look at the difference between 27-9 and 27-11, but could not find the sources for 27-9. The linux-source link is for the current version, and I cannot decode how to get to the .diff files for other versions. don -- ----------------------------------------------------------------- | Don Fisher h...@comcast.net | | 865 W.
