Resolutions people use get higher over time. The physical screen sizes
get a bit larger, and individual pixels get physically smaller.

Most UIs and websites keep various sizes in pixels constant, becoming
smaller instead of smoother as people are using screens with finer
pixels, which is a pity. I recently switched to a 147 DPI screen and I
can generally tell which websites specify their text sizes in pixels
(those with unusually small text, which is unfortunately the more
common thing), and which ones - in points (those with surprisingly
large text). And it is a disaster when one site uses a mixture of
both.
