Hi, It would be nice if the latest Git versions were available in Ubuntu repositories. Current available Git version is 1.5.6.3 where as the Ubuntu repository version for Fiesty Fawn is 1.4.4.2; unlike other projects Git is developed extremely actively and makes frequent releases, the debian packages are available backports.org (http://www.backports.org/debian/pool/main/g/git-core/) thanks to Gerrit and the the latest version there is 1.5.6.1. I would really nice if the Ubuntu team would kindly make the latest or close to latest releases available in their repositories.
