It occurs to me now that Feisty has a nice method for autodetecting needed codecs in Totem and offering them to the users to install, that pretty much the same should be done for File Roller (aka Archive Manager) if a user comes across a less common archive (e.g. ACE, ALZ, ARJ, LHZ, RAR, etc.) that's not supported out-of-the-box.
