I don't think you need to dial up just to test the tool. As long as scanModem runs and tells you which driver to use[1] and where to go next, that means it's working on Edgy. Shouldn't we CC [EMAIL PROTECTED] to get some feedback? Thanks (especially for trying) :) PS. I'm not aware of any alternatives to scanmodem. afaik, if it doesn't work, that means dial up users are pretty much shut out of Ubuntu.
