Hey everyone,

I just registered https://blueprints.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+spec/desktop-gnome-3-8 to organize work around that

We do plan to aim at getting GNOME 3.8 in S but, as written in the whiteboard, this cycle we will not land updates if those:

- have known issues which are considered blocker (check with the channel/list or ping me if you are unsure if a bug is a blocker)

- have some patches that are not updated yet (we did accept to do that this cycle and nobody took responsibility to update the patches during the cycle which created extra works and bugs that will be released in raring)

- require a transition which is not prepared (e.g if you want a soname to land, we need somebody in charge of testing the rdepends and organizing work around that to make sure it doesn't takes weeks and block proposed to archive during that time)

Or said differently, let's stick to quality, get work done, and land things when we are happy about those ;-)

Feel free to add workitems on the blueprint if they are things you are working on. We can discuss some of the topics in details at the vUDS, in a few weeks, if required.

Happy hacking everyone!

Cheers,
Sebastien Bacher
