1. [GR] Επανένωση της ΕΛ/ΛΑΚ Κύπρου – Διαδικτυακή Συνάντηση στις 13 Μαρτίου
Αγαπητά μέλη και φίλοι της κοινότητας ΕΛΛΑΚ Κύπρου,
Με χαρά σας προσκαλούμε στη διαδικτυακή συνάντηση επανένωσης της ΕΛ/ΛΑΚ
Κύπρου την Πέμπτη 13εις Μαρτίου στις 19:00, στη πλατφόρμα Jitsi της
disroot.
Στόχος μας είναι η ανασυγκρότηση και επανεγγραφή του σωματείου, ώστε να
επαναφέρουμε τη δυναμική του και να υποστηρίξουμε τη διάδοση του
Ελεύθερου και Ανοιχτού Λογισμικού στην Κύπρο. Η συμμετοχή όλων είναι
κρίσιμη για να διαμορφώσουμε από κοινού τις προτεραιότητες και τη νέα
πορεία της κοινότητας.
Στη συνάντηση θα συζητήσουμε:
- Τη διαδικασία επανεγγραφής του συλλόγου
- Τη διαμόρφωση στρατηγικής για την υποστήριξη του ΕΛ/ΛΑΚ στην Κύπρο
- Τη δικτύωση με τοπικές και διεθνείς κοινότητες
- Μελλοντικές δράσεις και συνεργασίες
Εάν ενδιαφέρεστε να συμβάλετε ή να συμμετάσχετε ενεργά, σας προσκαλούμε

2. [EN] EL/LAK (FLOSS) Cyprus Reunion – Online Meeting on March 13
Dear members and friends of the EL/LAK (FLOSS) Cyprus community,
We are pleased to invite you to the EL/LAK Cyprus reunion meeting on
Thursday, March 13th, at 19:00, at the Jitsi platform of disroot.
Our goal is to re-establish and officially re-register the association,
reviving its mission to promote Free and Open Source Software in Cyprus.
Your participation is essential in shaping the community’s future
priorities and direction.
During the meeting, we will discuss:
- The re-registration process of the association
- Strategies to support and promote FLOSS
- Strengthening networks with local and international communities
- Future initiatives and collaborations
If you are interested in contributing or actively participating, we
invite you to join us and be part of this new phase for EL/LAK Cyprus.

3. NLnet NGI0: A FLOSS Lobby for Cyprus? Finally. / Tοπική εκπροσώπηση
στην Κύπρο & πρόγραμμα χρηματοδότησης για ανοικτή/ελεύθερη τεχνολογία
Cyprus now has a connection to the international FLOSS lobby, and I
(Chrystalleni Loizidou) am stepping in as Regional Representative for
NLnet NGI0. This means two things:
1. We now have increased local capacity to represent, advocate, and
strategise towards free and open-source technology, digital rights, and
the commons.
2. There is funding. Real support for real projects, from €5,000 to
€50,000+, for research, development, and uptake of open technologies
that work for people, not profit.
Important dates:
- Weekly meetups → Every Thursday, 19:00 - 21:00 (online, hybrid, & beer
gatherings, location TBA)
- Next funding deadline → April 1st, 2025. If you’re building something
that aligns with privacy, decentralisation, ethical tech, or public
digital infrastructure, let’s get your application in.
We are here to help cultivate the FLOSS ecosystem in Cyprus—not as a
niche interest, but as a public good, a right, and a necessary
intervention in how technology shapes our lives.

getting a project funded.
