Greetings CYLUG, Hope everyone is well and in good health.
I have been on this list for eons and I think this is the only time that I am actually requesting for assistance, and perhaps also be of assistance to the LOCO LUG. We (Hotforex.com) are looking for seasoned Sysadmins/DevOps to fill in our ranks in our Network Operations Center and Systems Development/Operations. The problem at the moment that I am facing is the fact that every candidate we encounter are either too fresh off the boat (University and/or otherwise...), or does not have the right acumen/characteristics to handle the load that needs to be done. A Hit or Miss to say the least. Have a look at https://www.hotforex.com/en/about-us/careers.html and don't forget to mention that you came from CYLUG so I can personally vouch for you to be accelerated in the short list. Moreover, we would like to host/sponsor any future CYLUG event that the LOCO might arrange. Do let me know who would be the contact person to organize such a cooperation with. Just an insight: We pride ourselves as a medium-size company working in the financial-sector, with over 150 employees -- all of which uses Ubuntu on the workstation. We would like to share this insight with the LOCO on topics such as Deployment Procedures/Automation, hurdles on Wind0ze User Harmonization to a Linux Desktop Environment, and overcoming fears of using FOSS in the Enterprise, etc... Any pointers to whom to address the above would be much appreciated. Good luck to those applying for our openings. Any questions, feel free to reply to this thread. Have a good Weekend! Kind Regards, Brendan Jocson Tech Evangelist http://hotforex.com
