I have the same disconnect/reconnect issues running Edgy on a Dell E1505 laptop with ipw3945 wireless card connected to a WPA network. It seems to be something concerning wpa_supplicant trying to re-authenticate. The network works, but it hiccups every 5-15 seconds, making it very choppy. For some reason this seems to happen whether I try connecting to a WPA encrypted network, or even an unencrypted network.
I can get a steady wireless connection easily though.... by simply closing NetworkManager and editing /etc/network/interfaces to include my WPA key information. Then just starting eth1 normally, not using NetworkManager. But I like the ease of use NM provides, so I'd like to get it working. Looking at log files I get the same reoccurring messages in a perpetual loop. Something about eth1 timing out, then WPA trying to reauthenticate. I attached daemon.log kern.log messages and syslog, these are the ones I see reoccurring entries in for this issue. ** Attachment added: "Log Files" http://librarian.launchpad.net/4945176/logs.tar.gz -- Wireless network keeps reconnecting (ubuntu edgy) https://launchpad.net/bugs/64173 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
