This has been in Ubunti since Fiesty and now I have upgraded to Hardy and the problem persists. Must be an interrupt issue. My laptop is a Compaq V6120US with AMD Turion 64x2. I have had to modify boot options to 'noapic nolapic'
-- Every time I turn the touchpad on my laptop off, then on again the "Ubuntu Help Center" pop up after slowing my system. Windows Vista popups were a pain, but at least I could turn off most of them - this is getting silly.
