Intrepid updated has the same: xserver-xorg-video-ati (1:6.9.0+git20080802.1f3eee36-1ubuntu1) I got it from Changelog.Debian in /usr/share/doc/xserver-xorg-video-ati/ The issue probably depends on live cd. I faced a similar problem on Gutsy Tribe 5.
