Thanks for this information - it was a lot of help for the next round of debugging.
I have put another kernel image deb package, this time into: http://people.ubuntu.com/~cking/debug-254837-5 The debug will cause a kernel panic when it detects the zeroing of the interrupt vectors 16 upwards - hopefully the final screenshot is all I need. I've put more debug into the yenta socket code to try and get some more information about where this bug is occurring.
