Public bug reported: Binary package hint: usplash
On Ubuntu 7.04, 2.6.20-17, generic 32bit kernel, running XFCE as the desktop environment, using xfce tools (ie. xfce terminal). When I'm logged in onto the desktop, using a xfce-terminal, and calling 'sudo usplash -c', it shows the usplash screen as it's supposed to do. When it finishes and returns to the desktop, in the terminal window, from which usplash was called, there are tons of carriage returns, ie. like if i were keep pressing enter during usplash. I see tons of empty lines, starting with the prompt. It happens a couple hundred times for sure, because i have 200 lines screen buffer and i can not scroll back to the original usplash command in the terminal. Once I did this from a tty too, and the same happened, but only once, i can not reproduce it anymore. But on the desktop it happens all the time. I didn't test it with other terminals either. Steps to reproduce: 1, log on on a 7.04-i32bit ubuntu, use xfce as the desktop environment 2, open a xfce-terminal 3, type: 'sudo uspalsh -c', enter 4, wait until the usplash disappears and returns to the desktop 5, you'll see hundreds of empty line in the terminal window. ** Affects: usplash (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Description changed: Binary package hint: usplash On Ubuntu 7.04, 2.6.20-17, generic 32bit kernel, running XFCE as the desktop environment, using xfce tools (ie. xfce terminal).
