Martin - does jockey install the meta package for the flavour, e.g., linux-restricted-modules-generic? These LRM packages are rebuilt for every ABI, and I'm quite sure they are working since I use nVidia on at least one of my laptops. Perhaps folks are installing the ABI package and not the meta package.
