Hi Christian, Thank you for you interest in this.
I did a new test with no USB-devices attached (fortunately I have an old PS2 keyboard :-) The corresponding warnings now read: Sep 1 21:46:29 helios kernel: [ 4341.704004] PM: resume devices took 9.052 seconds Sep 1 21:46:29 helios kernel: [ 4341.704004] ------------[ cut here ]------------ Sep 1 21:46:29 helios kernel: [ 4341.704004] WARNING: at /build/buildd/linux-2.6.27/kernel/power/main.c:176 suspend_test_finish+0x74/0x80() Sep 1 21:46:29 helios kernel: [ 4341.704004] Modules linked in: nls_iso8859_1 nls_cp437 vfat fat isofs udf crc_itu_t ipv6 binfmt_misc af_packet rfcomm l2cap bluetooth ppdev cpufreq_conservative cpufreq_powersave cpufreq_stats cpufreq_ondemand cpufreq_userspace freq_table wmi container pci_slot sbs sbshc video output battery iptable_filter ip_tables x_tables ac sbp2 lp snd_via82xx snd_pcsp gameport snd_via82xx_modem snd_pcm_oss snd_ac97_codec snd_mixer_oss ac97_bus snd_mpu401_uart snd_pcm snd_seq_dummy usblp snd_seq_oss snd_seq_midi snd_rawmidi arc4 snd_seq_midi_event ecb crypto_blkcipher parport_pc parport snd_seq snd_timer snd_seq_device snd snd_page_alloc soundcore i2c_viapro i2c_core button shpchp pci_hotplug via_agp agpgart evdev ext3 jbd mbcache sg sr_mod cdrom sd_mod crc_t10dif pata_acpi usbhid hid pata_via sata_via floppy uhci_hcd ata_generic ehci_hcd usbcore libata ohci1394 scsi_mod dock ieee1394 thermal processor fan fbcon tileblit font bitblit softcursor uvesafb cn fuse [last unloaded: eeprom_93cx6] Sep 1 21:46:29 helios kernel: [ 4341.704004] Pid: 8439, comm: pm-suspend Not tainted 2.6.27-2-generic #1 Sep 1 21:46:29 helios kernel: [ 4341.704004] [<c03925d6>] ? printk+0x1d/0x1f Sep 1 21:46:29 helios kernel: [ 4341.704004] [<c0131be9>] warn_on_slowpath+0x59/0x90 Sep 1 21:46:29 helios kernel: [ 4341.704004] [<c014cd55>] ? sched_clock_cpu+0xd5/0x170 Sep 1 21:46:29 helios kernel: [ 4341.704004] [<c014bb9f>] ? down_trylock+0x2f/0x40 Sep 1 21:46:29 helios kernel: [ 4341.704004] [<c01322c2>] ? try_acquire_console_sem+0x12/0x40 Sep 1 21:46:29 helios kernel: [ 4341.704004] [<c0104ff3>] ? common_interrupt+0x23/0x30 Sep 1 21:46:29 helios kernel: [ 4341.704004] [<c024fac0>] ? kobject_put+0x20/0x50 Sep 1 21:46:29 helios kernel: [ 4341.704004] [<c015cb14>] suspend_test_finish+0x74/0x80 Sep 1 21:46:29 helios kernel: [ 4341.704004] [<c015cc06>] suspend_devices_and_enter+0xe6/0x190 Sep 1 21:46:29 helios kernel: [ 4341.704004] [<c015ce81>] enter_state+0xd1/0x100 Sep 1 21:46:29 helios kernel: [ 4341.704004] [<c015cf35>] state_store+0x85/0xd0 Sep 1 21:46:29 helios kernel: [ 4341.704004] [<c015ceb0>] ? state_store+0x0/0xd0 Sep 1 21:46:29 helios kernel: [ 4341.704004] [<c024f984>] kobj_attr_store+0x24/0x30 Sep 1 21:46:29 helios kernel: [ 4341.704004] [<c02006a7>] sysfs_write_file+0x97/0x100 Sep 1 21:46:29 helios kernel: [ 4341.704004] [<c01b3680>] vfs_write+0xa0/0x110 Sep 1 21:46:29 helios kernel: [ 4341.704004] [<c0200610>] ? sysfs_write_file+0x0/0x100 Sep 1 21:46:29 helios kernel: [ 4341.704004] [<c01b37c2>] sys_write+0x42/0x70 Sep 1 21:46:29 helios kernel: [ 4341.704004] [<c0103f6b>] sysenter_do_call+0x12/0x2f Sep 1 21:46:29 helios kernel: [ 4341.704004] ======================= Sep 1 21:46:29 helios kernel: [ 4341.704004] ---[ end trace c29e06961e9cf49d ]--- Sep 1 21:46:29 helios kernel: [ 4341.704004] Restarting tasks ... done. The list of modules has grow a bit: The list you cut out contains 99 modules. The list in this post contains 4 additional ones: "nls_iso8859_1", "nls_cp437", "vfat", "fat" The two last ones are probably because I had accessed my windows-partition before doing the test. My system is up to date as a hardy system: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:/var/log# wajig status pm-utils Package Installed Previous Now State =======================-===============-===============-===============-===== pm-utils 0.99.2-3ubuntu10 0.99.2-3ubuntu10 0.99.2-3ubuntu10 install I'm not sure which driver is used for the graphics card. It's an nVidia FX 5200, but I do not use the proprietary nVidia-driver. I attach output from lsmod and lspci, but I must admit I can not point to the correct one my selves. I could also not find the driver name in /etc/X11/xorg.conf (things move fast in Ubuntu, and that is good). Thanks again for you patience.
