Public bug reported:
iwl3945 has serious problems in ad-hoc mode.
Connecting to 802.11b devices does not work at all, setting parameters
with iwconfig fails in 9 of 10 attempts.
In dmesg errors like this appear:

Up-to-date Hardy installation running kernel 2.6.24-19-generic and iwconfig
