I discovered <URL:https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/wxsvg/+bug/242572> which should result in the needed package. It's not very convenient to install it on Ubuntu, since you must get the source package from debian- multimedia, apply a debdiff, and then build the resulting source package, so I added that package to my PPA: <URL:https://edge.launchpad.net/~jonner/+archive>
