Alas, .27 did not work for my hardware; neither the video chipset nor the wifi hardware were detected properly. Thanks for the directions above, though. I tried following the directions on the download webpage itself, and added: deb http://mirrors.kernel.org/ubuntu intrepid main to my /etc/apt/sources.list, and then did sudo apt-get update. Not only did that not add the kernel image, but it prepared apt to update the whole system to Intrepid! So I deleted that line from my .list, re-updated apt, and then downloaded the package directly.
What gDebi told me allayed my concerns: the 22 MB package contains all the associated updated modules necessary to enable kernel .27 to work. Too bad they not detect/configure to my hardware. -- Kernel Panic on suspend, 2.6.24-21-generic https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/258026 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
