Well, doing as you suggested makes that error go away, but I'm still unable to use the nvidia driver (any version)
now it just goes to the bulletproof x dialog at startup, but still does not seem to want to play nice with the nvidia driver and go directly to the vesa driver instead (???!!!) I think that this is another bug though, as I've seen others talking about it at ubuntuforums. -- package nvidia-glx-177 None failed to install/upgrade: trying to overwrite `/usr/lib/libGL.so.1', which is also in package libgl1-mesa-glx https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/256743 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
